This is one of many short video segments which will be added to the Digital Tipping Point (DTP) archive. This series of segments features OpenOffice.org community documentation lead Gerry Singleton. Gerry has been involved with OpenOffice.org since long before it was released by Sun Microsystems as Free Open Source Software. He has was one of the primary contributors to one of the largest OpenOffice.org documentation projects in the world. Among other things, he wrote an on-line manual for using OpenOffice.org which exceeds 600 pages.
This video unfortunately was shot with the light filter set too high. It needs to be re-rendered to make it lighter. The DTP crew wanted to release this video to the Internet Archive's Digital Tipping Point Video Collection before doing the resource intensive re-rendering because it is more important to get the footage out to the community than to have it perfect in this raw form. Most uses of the footage will require re-rendering, anyway, and each user of the footage will want to re-render it in his / her own way. So we give it to you as is, for now. Anyone who would like to render it brighter can please contact producer Christian Einfeldt at einfeldt at digitaltippingpoint.com.
If you like this segment, please consider typing up a summary for it and emailing that summary to Christian Einfeldt at einfeld@gmail.com. Your work will be credited and posted on this page.
The DTP will be many, many films created by the global open source video community about how open source is changing their lives. We, the DTP crew, are submitting this footage for anyone to rip, mix, and burn under the Creative Commons Attribute - ShareAlike license. We welcome edits, transcriptions, graphics, music, and animation contributions to the film. Please send a link for any contributions to Christian Einfeldt at einfeldt at digitaltippingpoint.com.
